Welcome to Shelter Trips. By using our website or booking holiday itineraries, hotels, houseboats, and car rental services through us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Bookings & Payments
All tour quotes are subject to final availability at the time of reservation. To secure bookings, a percentage of the total package price is required as an advance deposit, with the remaining balance due upon arrival in Srinagar or according to the schedule specified in your PDF travel invoice.
2. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to our email address. Refunds are processed based on the proximity of the cancellation to the travel start date:
- Cancellations 30+ days prior to travel: 90% refund of deposit.
- Cancellations 15–29 days prior: 50% refund of deposit.
- Cancellations under 15 days: Deposits are non-refundable due to pre-paid blockages at local stays.
3. Force Majeure & Local Disruptions
Kashmir is a high-altitude alpine zone. Shelter Trips is not liable for itinerary changes or cancellations caused by force majeure conditions, such as sudden winter road closures (e.g. at Zojila or Jammu National Highway), landslides, flight cancellations due to low visibility at Srinagar Airport, or government orders. We will construct alternative plans to ensure client safety.
4. Code of Conduct & Guest Safety
Guests are expected to respect local customs and regulations. When staying onboard houseboats or in hotels, guidelines regarding check-in timings, waste management, and safety protocols must be followed.
5. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jammu & Kashmir, India, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Srinagar.
